Michael E. Creager, age 62, of Midvale, died Monday, March 8, 2010, in Mercy Medical Center at Canton following a period of declining health.

A son of the late Sonny and Betty (Wilson) Creager, Mike was born in Twin City Hospital at Dennison on October 19, 1947.

A 1965 graduate of Midvale High School, Mike would begin a 35 year career in the auto body industry where he would be employed by Kerr Autobody, Humphries, McKnight Truck and would ultimately retire from Automated Equipment at Newcomerstown.

For more than thirty-three years, Mike has shared his life with the former Debbie Day. The couple wed on July 13, 1976, and together reared two sons.

As a father, Mike enjoyed coaching and attending the sporting activities of his two sons and would rarely miss a practice or a game. Additionally, Mike enjoyed woodworking, The Cleveland Indians, and motor sports, NASCAR, in particular.

Mike also enjoyed restoring classic cars and attending car shows and cruise-ins. The daily companionship of his three canine friends was always something that he enjoyed and he will be greatly missed by Coco, Cici, and Shana.

In addition to his wife, Debbie, Mike leaves behind his loving sons, Michael E. (Cheri) Creager, II, Kirk Creager, and his sister, Linda Fox all of Midvale.

A granddaughter, Michaela Creager, a niece, Michelle (Brad) Cook of Delaware, Ohio and two great nieces, Brianna Karelin and Tolan Cook also survive.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, March 11, 2010, from 6:00 – 8: 00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Rev. Hugh B. Berry will lead a service celebrating Mike's life in the funeral home's chapel on Friday, March 12, 2010, at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.

Following services the family would like to invite guests to join them for a meal and fellowship in the Midvale Park Shelter House.

The family requests that memorial contributions in Mike's name be directed to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 W Third Street, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44622.
